Adult, Beginner (Friday)
September 2023 to May 2024 Weekly Fridays from 5:15pm to 7:00pm Teacher: Anna Schall The Beginner course is tailored to adults without any knowledge of the German language. The focus will be on basic vocabulary, common phrases (like “Guten Tag”), and basic grammar so students can begin to feel comfortable with the language and form basic sentences. Learning how to apply the German language in everyday situations and to speak in the classroom without pressure, but with correct pronunciation, are key components of this course. After this course, the student will be able to use enough words and phrases to order at a restaurant, buy a train ticket, or navigate through a German city. The 12-chapter textbook used in this 30-week course reflects the basic A1 level of difficulty as standardized within the European Union (“Common European Framework of Reference for Languages”). This course covers the first six chapters. The textbook and workbook will be available for purchase on the first day of school.
Classes can be cancelled and refunded by the student/parent until September 22rd or 10 days after any registration beyond that date. A non-refundable registration fee of $15.00 is included in all fees.
